Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

Let us walk through step by step what BPD through a simplified explanation.

Introduction Borderline personality disorder (BPD)/Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) is a mental health condition in which a person experiences an intense and often unpredictable roller coaster of emotions. It is commonly linked with fear of an abandonment, unstable relationships, identity issues, impulsivity, self-harm/suicidal behaviors, mood swings, chronic emptiness, intense anger, and stress-induced paranoia or dissociation. BPD does not come from nowhere; research suggests that it develops from a combination of environmental experiences (such as trauma or invalidation) and biological factors, including differences in brain functioning and influences that may already be present before birth.
